I just took 3 50mg Unisom sleeping Pills my problem is i cant remember if i already took 3 earlier!!!?
I normally take 3 50mg unisom pills everynight around bedtime but tonight i had guests over and for the life of me i cant remember if i took my pills already or not so not thinking to much about it i just took three because i figured if i cant remember i prob. didnt but then it dawned on me What if i had already taken 3 Can i overdose if i took 6 50mg pills in one night????????
It Wednesday dude and seriously im being legit right now i would appreciate real answers its 3:30am where im at right now and i would like to go to sleep but before i do i wanna know if this is an emergency where i might wanna go to the hospital or not!
erin kelly: Thanks for your help but i already checked the bottle and nothing about my situation. but the answer to your question is No sleeping pills and pain relievers are way different Think about it this way have you ever had vicodin/hydrocodone any mg 500 750 or 1000 they all contain acetaminophen and vicodin contains wayyy more than your everyday pain reliever the lower the milligram the higher the amount. Fyi' i take 3 Tylenol's, aspirin, or advil for just a normal headache so you should be fine=)

I would check on the bottle to c if u should call poison control in case u overdosed, I accidentally took 2 advil and them another 2 like 15 minutes later and was fine(this happened a few weeks ago) I don't kno if comparing a sleeping pill to a pain reliever is the best comparison tho, answer mine? The recommended dose for most OTC sleeping pills is just one pill per night. I would ask a doctor before deviating from the medicine's directions. Either way, don't take any more!
Was it the the gel kind (diphenhydremine) or the solid tablet kind (doxylamine)? The second one is stronger.
I wouldn't worry too much about overdosing by a little bit on OTC drugs once in a while, but 6 is kind of risky, and 3 a night can't be good! You aren't even supposed to take that stuff every single night. Using it every night interferes with REM sleep. It's just for occasional sleeplessness.

Which unisom are you taking? There are two unisom medications: diphenhydramine hydrochloride and Doxylamine succinate. You can probably get away with three diphenhydramine hydrochloride , beacuse the dosage is two (I have taken up to five, but I take it in the form of benedryl for severel allergic reactions) but I would not do that every night and definately NOT while pregnant. However I don't think you should take three Doxylamine succinate, the dosage is only one so you're tripling it which is not safe for you. If the correct dose of unisom is not working with you, talk to your doctor and see if there's something else he can do to treat the insomnia, for you and your baby! You need a healthy you to have a healthy baby!
