One Week in Italy and One Week in London?
Possible, without going crazy? We'd like to keep it fairly chill. I was thinking we could use Lucca or Florence as a home base while chilling in Tuscany, and then hop the overnight train through Paris to London for the second week. London is really the bigger part of the trip for us. Frankly, I'd love to stop in Paris for the day, but we'll have luggage with us.
Anyhow. I'm completely new to European travel. But that's my idea. Help! Personal opinions?

Sounds great. Wish it was me . I have not travelled in that way either but I am one of those who doesn't like to spend too long in one place so it may mean too much packing and unpacking or too much settling in to a new place, but how about weekdays in Italy, stay a weekend or long weekend in Paris and then more weekdays in London in the second week.
Or in your original plan , when in London , the Eurostar train will take you from London to Paris direct in a couple of hours through the Channel Tunnel so an early departure and late return would give you a day in Paris.
