Rpm meter needle shaky?
I drive a 1996 chevy blazer. I've noticed that the rpm meter (tachometer?) Needle is shaking slightly as I accecelerate. Sometimes, the needle will jump up when im at a stop, like im giving it gas but im not. What could be the problem? Im afraid I might end up on the side of the road broken down soon. The first thing that comes to mind is the fuel pump, but those tend to just work or not work. So what is it?

Repalce the rpm meter. No such thing as a speedometer cable is stretched that goes from the gage to the transmission. It has a speed sensor. I''m an old lady and I knew that!

the speedometer cable is stretched that goes from the gage to the transmission. It is a spring like and it sometimes get out of wind if not aligned up properly (square peg and square hole). It needs to be replaced and can get on at any auto wrecker. Won't hurt anything if gets broken. Just won't know how fast you are going.
