What could cause my rear tire on my Cannondale F400 bike to be flat when it shows that it is inflated?
After riding about 3 miles today I noticed my rear tire was flat. I inflated it to 65psi and it was still very spongy. What do I need to do? I know I should have checked it today before riding and I noticed pedalling was especially hard, but I haven't rode in about 3 days due to the rain and I thought it was just soreness in my legs. Thanks!!

Look at the side of he tire. It will state what the maximum air pressure is/ Fill it to that level. Is it still flat? My best bet is that you are filling it 2/3 of the way there.

65 psi should not be soft
maybe you don;t have the presta valve unlocked and are just pumping 'the valve' not the tire
or it leaks so fast that you can pump it to 65 but by the time you feel it, it;s soft again
[which would be under 20 psi]
if it was flat it has a leak
that is probably the whole problem

Are you sure your gauge is reading correctly?
Or that it's not calibrated in kPa? (kilo pascals) - if it is, 65 kPa would be about 10 PSI and would definitely be a spongy ride!
