Why do I have such strange taste in men?
Most girls I know are into fit, relatively young guys like Ryan Reynolds or Johnny Depp, but I am super attracted to the most random, borderline weird older guys like Peter Stormare (actor) and James May (Top Gear host). I have been this way as far back as I can remember (I had a crush on Jeff Goldblum when i was like 6 years old) and have noo idea why. Is attraction rooted in biology or can life experience shape what you like? I've never met anyone else with taste like mine. just curious :p I'm 20 btw.
It's almost like i'm drawn to the borderline weirdness... and I feel a little wrong for being attracted to these guys because a normal girl would say "ew" if I said who I was attracted to, and yet its also kinda exciting knowing that people would view it as unusual. And I know these guys are kinda strange but that's what I love about them really. Am I the only one like this?

Just that some girls are attracted to men who are against the norm.
Not everyone gets to go out with the Quarterback of the football team, right?
Plus others that I know of are just attracted to nerdy guys as well.

Sam. I'm exactly the same, only the other way around. I'm 72 and I've always gone for much younger ladies, and never come to any harm. I can even say that I've thoroughly enjoyed every minute. So go for it. Never mind what others may think, it's what pleases you that counts. Love holds no bounds.
Btw, I'm single at the moment?? ;-).

Different strokes for different folks. I bet if you asked all the women in the world, there are bound to be more strange tastes in men than you can dream of. Maybe these men remind you of someone whom you really care about and so you get that secure feeling.

I think a big part of it is the media telling (men and women) what to be attracted to. In reality, people that are not afraid of having their own opinion will like who they want to like! I think a lot of who we are attracted to really comes from social experiences, and also how our parents relate to use as kids. Many people will say they like the 'typical hot guy/ girl' just to please the majority and not seem like outcasts. In reality they probably like all sorts of guys.
