How can I download software from DVD to my Netbook?
I'm thinking of buying a NetBook but they don't have DVD players. I have software that I'd like to install on it. Would I have to buy an external DVD player or is there another way?

You could rip the contents of the DVD to an .iso file (using ImgBurn) then mount the .iso on your netbook (transfer the .iso file using an external drive) using virtual clonedrive - both free

Check your NetBook to see if it has a usb port, You may be able to put the software on a flash drive and copy the files from the flash drive to the NetBook.

You can use an external dvd drive. Or you can download the ISO and use it with daemon tools (a desktop CD drive) to install the program.
