Before Monti opened a restaurant at that location, the building was the hacienda of the Hayden family, who are very prominent in Arizona history. The bell was original to the hacienda, which was originally built in 1871. Many ranches in the old west had bells that were used to call ranch hands for dinner or when there was a emergency at the house.
