Are we really racist or?

set in our tribal ways that have been passed down to us for thousands of years. africa is still a warring continent of small countries who are fighting. Is it really uncommon to be bigoted? or is it in us from our ancestors fighting for territory and beliefs.

thoughts?

Update:

ruckus you don't make sense but after your last racial slur question, I am happy you don't make sense

I think a lot of people shout 'racist' too quickly - when all people want to do is protect their own heritage.

The glory of this world used to be the DIFFERENCES in the countries and peoples. It was a joy at one time to go to another country and see the different traditions, the look of different places, different foods, different arts and meet people who spoke a different language, had a different religion and ideas etc....

Now everything is beginning to look the same everywhere and we are rapidly losing our identities in one cultural mix. It's not racist to want to preserve our own cultural heritage!

no, there is nothing natural about egocentrism, which is rooted in ignorance. although this does explain why our ancestors were always at odds with one another. when you develop an awareness of the world around you, you start to gain some perspective about your role within it, instead of believing it revolves around you and those you find similar to you.
