A good diet for an athlete anyone ?

    Try to get each day:

    6-11 servings of grain

    3-5 servings of vegetables

    2-5 servings of fruits

    2-6 servings of protein (As an athlete you really want around 4-6 servings a day).

    2-4 servings of dairy

    1-2 servings of fats

    A balanced meal plan would be like this:

    Breakfast:

    2 grains

    1 dairy

    1 fruit

    1-2 protein

    Lunch:

    2 grains

    1 dairy

    1 protein

    1 vegetable

    1 fat

    Snack:

    1 grain

    1 fruit/vegetable

    1 protein (Ex: 2 tablespoons peanut butter, 1/4 cup of nuts).

    Dinner:

    2 grains

    2 protein

    1 dairy

    1 vegetable

    1 fat

    Snack:

    1 fruit

    1 grain

    1 dairy
