vacation to australia?
I'd like to go to australia sometime over the winter. I'm just starting to look into different resorts and things to do while were there. I'd like to hear what others did and where they stayed while there.

I live in Perth WA and i can say it does not resemble any quaint English town.......
You can come see the dolphins and dugongs in Monkey Mia, swim with the whale sharks in Exmouth, what you wont see is quaint English towns.

If you are coming in the northern hemisphere winter then that is summer in Australia, so it's best to stay in the south so that it's not too hot and wet.
I'd recommend starting in Sydney then spending about 5 days gradually driving down the coast to Melbourne - there are gorgeous beaches and beach towns all the way. Then spending some time in Tasmania which is beautiful in summer, and full of wildlife, scenery and history.
Other good places to go in summer include the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Kangaroo Island in South Australia, and the Margaret River region of WA.
Christmas Day for tourists is usually spent on Bondi Beach in Sydney, and Sydney is one of the best places in the world to be for New Year's Eve if you are here at that time.

Australia is a very large so its not possible to see everything in a short time. List the things you want to see/experience and we'll be able to give you better advice.
Resorts are usually in the holiday areas and not the major cities.
