I am not provided with enough historical documentation to reflect on human advances and errors in a long duration. I have read a couple of history books, and most of all advances seem to take place when some one in the political body is trying to protect them self from some social-ailment. Those are political advances, whereas for technological they seem to come from invention, genius, and need. When there is enough desire only then do the inventions seem to become more possible. We are just learning about anti-gravity devices, and not nearly any body can think about the "unified goal" of scientific manipulation. Desire before goals, goals before reality.

Oh yea. I look back in highschool how my big 3"x6"x3" cell phone was top of the line, and only made calls and sent text. And here 9 years later, I'm holding a miniature computer in my hand, more advanced than almost any computer in the late 90's early 00's. A big mistake in our history is nuclear weaponry. Those weapons should never have been invented. But now we're trying to correct it.

There is only one, Man has made its life so complicated that it takes an average human 12 to 18 years to learn about it. (human advances)
We have the power of knowledge which is our only poison. (Errors) Eg. the discovery of elements and their atomic properties lead to the invention of the nuclear bomb / hydrogen bomb which is 100 times more powerful than a regular nuclear warhead.
Next thing we know, we will have one bomb capable of destroying the whole solar system.
