Are fireworks legal in Singapore?
I'm not talking about those we see on National Day or Chinese New Year or any other governmentt-sanctioned event. At 2 a.m., I saw fireworks when I looked out of my window. It was coming in the direction behind Christ Church Secondary School, possibly on the open field beside Singapore Sports School. This isn't the first time I'm seeing this. It happens fairly regularly, about once a week. Is it legal now to set off fireworks yourself here in Singapore? When did the law change? If so, where does one purchase the fireworks?

It is still illegal here in Singapore.
It could have been smuggled into Singapore or homemade.
IT should be reported to the police,
Its really a fire hazard here in Singapore since most live in flats and very close by.

Fireworks are legal, but only in government-sanctioned events. And you need special equipment for them... You may be referring to fire-crackers, which are not legal anymore. Perhaps you should find out more about the event that's setting them off before asking? :/
