How do you go about saying that you are sorry for something that you said or did?

It depends on what the situation is, the people involve and how drastic the mistake was. The things you said above is applicable if the situation was involving an arrogant office-mate and the incident was just about a coffee.

Sorry was a word that needs a big amount of sincerity, and if you are pretty much confident that you have express the sincerity it needs by just saying "sorry" and turn your back in the scene then that would be just as fine. ;)

Blessings to all. yes i agreed. sometimes we do and says things we really don't mean, but at the moment of hanger some people lash off pretty badly. It's good that one try to always, control our emotions, and do not let our emotions get the be best of us. If we wrong some one we will apologize as quickly as we can and say the magic word I'm sorry and try not to make the same mistake again, This I'm sorry has to come from the heart and one has to really mean it.

There are times that if I feel too shy to apologize by means of saying sorry personally, so what I do is try to show them that I change my ways that can favor both of us or show, based from my actions that I regretted doing something wrong.

for meehhhh....... what i did was flipped out on my girlfriend, it was pretty bad, soo i took a walk to cool off and then when i came back in the room i stood next to her and texted her and said sorry i overreacted, and whens she got the messages just looked her in the eyes and said, i dont wanna go another night without you. soo she listened to what i had to say, why i was flipping out on her...... yeah i won that fight!!
