got X-Rays done and need dental work...is the cost too high?

I recently got some X-Rays done and it had been awhile since my last appointment ( almost a staggering 10 years...) and after the full range of X-Rays they went over a set of numerous issues that would need to be fixed and what not and once i got the actual pricing for what would need to be done...I was quite astonished at how much it would cost.

After the Insurance benefit's for the annual year...I'm looking at 24,394$ for the full set of procedures to be done out of my own pocket.

The charges are 566$ for the root canals and 920 for the procelain crowns...then the bicuspid ones for 680.

Is that a bit pricy based off the Avg for those procedures or does that seem about correct...Cuz I was told I'm looking at almost 1,600 per tooth essentially.

Any replies or help would be much appreciated.

It depends on how bad your teeth are. But 566-680 for root canals is very reasonable as is the $920 for each crown.

If that is way too much for you, and it would be for most people, think about extractions and a partial to replace the missing teeth.

    yes indeed

dentists are expensive and painful as well

best thing to do is get a extensive dental plan that will work for you

wait a little and go to the dentist and let them get authorizations for the work nedding to be done and then you can compare what is going to come out of youre pocket

p.s. dental plans are not expensive

mine costs 43.00 dollars a month with aetna and it covers all regular dental and all crowns and root canals are 50% covered
