There are free sites like wix, weebly etc that are fine for sharing with friends and family. FB is also good for simple sharing, although some photographers do business there as well. Flickr is another site for sharing. She could spend some money and have a professional site designed, or use a pre built template to design her own.

When you say "out there", I am not really sure what you mean. Where is the out there she wants to be? Random closeups and garage band photography really does not have too much of a market. If she is courting clients, she should show what she is hoping to shoot and some examples of the work she is capable of producing every time. There are very few portraits on her FB, and none that most people would be likely to pay for. I am not trying to be mean, but the reality is photography is a hard way to make a real living now. Especially crowded is the portrait and stock business. Good cameras are easily accessible, and new camera owners trying to sell their picture taking services are a dime a dozen. They are also competing with the established pros. Not an easy row to hoe, and a newbie needs both great marketing and business acumen and mad mad skills to have any success. Good luck!

You can try making more accounts, like a Flickr, Bulkr , or even Deviant art account. Here are a few links that mention more about sites like this :

You can also try adding more friends, commenting on more photos, and getting more social with these sites, and some people may be friendly enough to check some of your photos, and comment..etc

You can also try asking people to tell their friends about it, making a photography group on one of these sites..
