Life Insurance test study?

Honey, if you're having a hard time dealing with the written word, you're probably not cut out for the insurance business. MOST of what you're going to do, is on paper, in writing.

**ah, thanks for the clarification!! With test anxiety, there are two MAJOR things to help you out. The first, is being very well rested. Plan on TWO good night's sleep, before taking the test, not just one.

The second, is knowing your materials so cold, that you already know you're going to pass the test. One of the BEST way to do that, is by working PRACTICE tests. When you take your practice test, you WORK the answers, so you know not just why the correct answer is correct, but why, exactly, the wrong answers are wrong, and how you'd have to modify them, to make them correct (if applicable).

When you can pass a practice exam with a 90% without looking anything up, you can pass the real one.

For me, classes didn't help at all with test taking strategies. All they did was reinforce and clarify concepts.

RE :Life Insurance test study?

Been studying out of book for my life insurance exam and am having trouble retaining information. I have always learned better thru video and was wondering if anyone could relate any videos that go thru the life insurance exam book?

Update: I have been given allot of advice telling me not to do this because people are assuming I don't like to read. I apologize for misconstruing the situation, I love to read write and work on computers I have amazing salesmanship and love to cold call. Don't get me wrong I never dreamed of being a life insurance salesmen but its the path I currently am going. Now to address my question I would like to add my trouble is more with test anxiety, the problem I am looking for an answer to is that I know when it comes to studying for a test I am the type of person who has to watch a movie about it 3 or 4 times and I will retain the information, I like the recommendation about the class which would be a good alternative if I had that option (which I don't). So summarily I would like to know of any video materials, good online teaching aids or any programs for the STATE OF WYOMING, any advice would be appreciated TY.

First of all, every state has different exams. You are probably in a state which does not require actual classroom hours, which is a shame. You can go and attend a pre-licensing class for another state, all of the basic concepts will be very similar.

You can also go and take Life Insurance specific seminars through programs like CIC. Theirs does include some health insurance information as well.

I have to agree with the other post though, if paper and books aren't for you, you might not be cut out for the industry.

You remind me of the law student I knew who hated to read. Yeah, she flunked out. On the plus side, there are few texts more dull than insurance. So hang in there.

As to your question, contact your state's department of insurance (or whatever governing body it has) and get a list of approved schools. Here in California there is a very good online pre-exam video class.

EDIT NOTE: OK. Glad you're not barking up a wrong tree for your personality. I still think your best bet is to contact your state's DOI. BTW, Life only is the TOUGHEST way to making a living. Have you thought about doing property and casualty? Business insurance generally have the biggest premiums, therefore the best commissions.

You can pay for an online class through greenlight or cashbrown.com.. However keep in mind that those are for the FL insurance exam. Find an online class for your state. Just remember, those classes aren't free.
