    6. Do you think the American Dream is available for everyone? Explain why or why not. No. Someday your time is just up. You can't work on your life when you're 80 years old. It's too late.

    7. Do you believe the American Dream is only for Americans? Explain why or why not.Yes. Hard work and determination does not guarantee success in every country. In my country, people who have good-paying jobs can't get rich with honest work. The more you earn the more taxes you have to pay. If you earn a lot, aren't married and have no kids you'll give almost half of the money you earn away. You cannot really improve your living standard that way.

    10. What is your definition of the American Dream? No matter what race or gender they are and which religion they have. [german Wikipedia]

    1) 40-58 (47)

    2) Self-Employed

    3) White

    4) Jewish

    5) Male

    6) No longer... prices of the basics are out of reach, real estate is grossly inflated in many regions, and we have too many illegal workers and free-loaders in this country.

    7) For Americans and LEGAL immigrants

    8) Very... I've worked for 30 years to get where I am, to get my family where we are.

    9) Yes, I believe it is part of it - the ability to earn it through honest work and to hold onto it for purchases and retirement

    10) Working from graduation until retirement... pay-raises and advancement for hard, honest work... at least equal to inflation and cost-of-living. Buying a home when you have the money, raising a family and passing on a better life.

    11) To me, yes.

    12) Depends on ones ability to feed and clothe them (we have two, I was one of four)

    13) To me it is KEY... education should result in higher wages

    14) To me it shouldn't matter... look how well some Asian and Indian families are doing !!

    15) I don't think it matters

    16) Matters less than it did in the 50's... roles have certainly changed

    17) Agree

    18) Agree

    19) Strongly Disagree (my Dad was a poor orphan who put himself through college to a PhD)

    20) Strongly Agree

    21) Disagree

    22) It is essential... the ability to move upward in class, job, etc.

    23) I think the American Dream has changed a bit from generation to generation

    24) I think that it is in danger due to foolish goals of getting EVERYONE into home-ownership when they simply couldn't afford it, and the incredible increase in advanced education costs.

    25) YES... those who reach it can retire and open their position to 2-3 younger workers

    26) If there aren't jobs and wide-spread opportunities to advance, the AD doesn't exist

    27) At the moment... NO - We're in a frozen economy and not looking good towards resolution. We've sold too many of our jobs overseas or to illegal labors.

    28) See answer 25-27... politics - coddling Unions and Corporations have a) over-priced lower wage industries and made them untenable, and b) allowed all those jobs to be shipped overseas, but allowed the corporations to profit from that.

    29) Reasonably priced higher education, hard daily work, an intact family, advancement in work and living conditions, and retirement

    30) It's on life support for the vast majority of Americans

    You're welcome...
