Power supply for Linksys BEFSR41 router?
I just picked up a used Linksys/Cisco BEFSR41 router and it came with a power supply block that says it outputs 9 volts AC. That seems weird. Most of these devices take DC power.
If anyone have one of these routers, can you check if your power supply also says AC output?

Read the label on the router for specs or:
User guide page 18 says "External, 12V DC, 1A"

I more or less agree with all of the others. However, I wonder why the old power adapter failed. If there was a problem with the router and it was attempting to draw more power than the old adapter could supply and the adapter failed for that reason, you could have issues. Using a power supply that can provide twice the power could cause your router to overheat and cause damage. If you know for sure why the power supply failed, then you should be okay. If you get the new power supply and it fails, then I would recommend that you replace your router to be safe.
