As an independent homeschooler, You would keep track of your grades for all your subjects. There is software designed track attendance, record grades, calculate your GPA, and print Transcripts for homeschoolers.

I like Homeschool Reporting Online: https://www.homeschoolreporting.com./ Subscription is $20/year. Easier to use; just list courses, record grades for each semester/quarter, and print transcript. You can also maintain attendance using homeschool tracker. Attendance will then become part of transcript.

I suggest you do some more research. How kids are homeschooled varies widely from family to family. Some use religious curriculum, others use secular curriculum. Some mix in one or two independent online courses. Still others enroll in either public charter or private online schools. The requirements and laws vary from state to state. For transcripts here is a link to a google search. There are free sample templates available. How you keep track exactly is probably less important than that you really keep track.

About the SAT, my personal recommendation is that any student consider signing up for a prep class. Our community college offered one for a very reasonable price that was taught by a college student who received a perfect score in all three areas. I think understanding what will be on it is very important. You could also buy a prep book and work by yourself. Your SAT scores are very important as a homeschooled student.

It depends on where you live. For me i just send my transcripts into the public highschool. They will send the dates for the SAT test in the mail (as well as other required test like ACT). To make sure you are learning enough to do well on the SAT test is not too hard. Just make sure you are keeping up with all your classses and then buy and SAT prep book. you can buy then in like Barnes and Noble and other book place or even on amazon or ebay. Just make sure you are buying a legitimate one if you get it from ebay. If you talk to your school they may have a SAT prep book for you to borrow or some schools now have an SAT prep class.
