Really? Never thought that and I'm English. Well, the singer Adele sounds very much like where she originates in England. Also Paulo Nutini sounds very Scottish, which he is. :) Muse sounds English too. So many of them do sound where they are from in the UK. That most probably goes for Australia and Ireland

They're not singing with American accents, they're just singing.... and our lame American ears can't tell the difference.
And what about all the mariachi music that doesn't rhyme in English OR Spanish?

British don't sing like Americans. You can totally tell. Listen to Morning Parade, Muse, Kasabian, etc. They sound so British.
