I'd like to visit New York City...?
I want to visit the memorial at Ground Zero, but I also want to see the Museum of Modern Art. How far will I need to travel to see each of them? How many miles between? And.. are there affordable accommodations within the area where I could maybe walk to each place. I'd also love to see the Empire State Building. Where is a clean, affordable, place to stay that I might be centrally located? And how much should I expect to pay for accommodations, and to see those three tourist stops?
Thanks to anyone who is willing to give me some guidance.

My friend, the National September 11th Memorial and Museum is located four miles south of MoMA. The best and cheapest way to get from the memorial to MoMA is by subway, which take about 20 minutes.
You can take the uptown (northbound) "E" train, which is the Blue Line on the subway map at the link below, from Chambers Street-WTC to 5th Avenue-53rd Street. Once you exit the subway at 5th Avenue, the museum is a short walk from the subway station.
Now, in regard to the memorial. Unfortunately, due to on going construction of the museum and the Freedom Tower, access to the Memorial Plaza is by reservation only. If you want to reserve a ticket, you can go the official National September 11th Memorial and Museum website at the link below.
If you don't have a ticket, there is another places where you can see the Memorial Plaza and the site all together. You can walk over to the Winter Pavilion, which is located on West Street and see the Plaza from there.
I hope this information is very helpful.
Good luck

It's like 81 blocks between the 2.
WTC is approx 28 blocks from Houston St and MOMA is at 53rd St, so 28+53=81.
