Do some Gamestop employees no nothing about what they talk about?

I go to Gamestop often, just to browse for any used games. Through my expiriences I know most of the workers and they are very knowledgeable. If they recommend normally I like it, or if I need help to the next area, they know. And, one day I walk in and a family wants to know about the 3DS, so they are talking to a person I do not remember seeing, (I assume he's new). Now, I own a 3DS, so I could tell them loads about it. But, as it is not my job I left it to the salesman.

The Things he said that were right:

*The size

The Things He Said Wrong:

*Just another DS

*3DS games can be played on DS (It is like playing Wii games on an SNES.)

*DSiWare cannot be moved to 3DS

*No Pre-installed programs.

*No good games coming out. (Ummm. Yeah i can list 8.)

*The 3D messes up your eyes, and you cannot turn it off (Ummm. That is why the 3D Slider is there Duh.)

Now, for those of you that own a 3DS you know this is false. I mean, really. "Yeah, you can play the 3DS games on the DS all you need to do is cut off that little tip." I was just about to say, Yeah you can do that, but it won't work on either system after that. They ended up buying a DSiXL. I'm curious about this because, wouldn't you normally persuade the customer towards the more expensive. Like a car, show them the best, and then the worst.

Have you guys ever seen anything like this?

Update:

Chocobunneh: Sorry, I skipped over the DSiXL so I never checked the price (I though it was a little less). But, still if they are the same price then I guess it makes it an even worse decision.

(Btw, there is more to know than pricing. I know more about the systems and games. Personally prices I care less about (Unless they are outrageous like $600.))

Update 2:

Chocobunneh:

Smash Bros. 4

Mari Kart 7

Monster Hunter Tri 3G (Most likely will make it here)

Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance

Fire Emblem

Resident Evil

I also believe there were talks of a new Contra game.

Yes there are a lot of remakes, but at least they are good.

And, the DS line will eventually be phased out. Like the DS did to the GBA.

Yeah, they're clueless, but you are a bit, too, if you think that the 3DS is more expensive than the DSi XL. They're the exact same price.

Still, at least they weren't trying to sell UMDs to their customers that they suckered into buying a PSP Go. Like I'd witnessed a few times.

But I can't really feel bad for the customer, I'd go for a DSi XL, too. The screens are much better, the d-pad isn't in a ridiculous position, and more than anything, the battery life is about triple that of a 3DS. And 3DS really DOESN'T have many must-have exclusives, considering 90% of the good games on it are ports or remakes. There's Super Mario 3D Land, Monster Hunter 4 (probably not going to be localized,) Kid Icarus: Uprising, and....what?

I USE to go to Gamestop until i realized they hire teenage girls that don't game at all. I tried to get a job out there multiple times(i'm a huge gamer and i know A LOT about electronics also i have sales experience) but for some reason. They would rather hire ignorant people to work there than to hire people that are VERY knowledgeable about their products.

Fortunately every employee at my local gamestop is a gamer themselves, as most are. Sounds like some one was just looking for a job and they hired him. He probably knows nothing about anything and reads parts of articles and thinks anything he reads on the internet is true.

Sounds like the guy who hired that employee should be fired and that employee should be arrested for fraud.
