Start Mathews over Gore?
IF and only IF Mike Tolbert doesn't play, should I start Ryan Mathews over Frank Gore? My other two RBs starting are McCoy and McFaden which are locks.

I would start Gore.
Both have pretty good match ups, but Gore is more reliable than Matthews.

Matthews could have a big day if the Chargers go up big in the first half and then lean on the run later in the game. Tough call, I would still go with Gore for the safe bet, but rolling with Matthews wouldn't be bad either.

Stick with Gore. Even though the 49ers aren't great, Gore always gets tons of work.

Even if tolbert plays, use mathews. They are playing the chiefs. Norv is trusting Ryan more. Have faith.
