Are Scotch Bonnets releated habanero's? They look about the same to me.?

    They're actually closely related. Botanically they're the same species, just different varieties. Both have similar heats, around 200,000 Scovilles (about 40x stronger than jalapenos). But the Scotch Bonnet is typically slightly milder, and has a more pungent flavor, while the habanero has more of a fruity flavor. Scotch Bonnets are used a lot in jerk recipes from the Caribbean, which really highlights their different flavor.

    Nope, do not consider so. Scotch bonnet peppers are the most up to date peppers recognize to guy. Honestly. They are almost always utilized in Carribbean cooking and scorching sauces. Habanero peppers are not as scorching, despite the fact that nonetheless percent a punch. I consider they're used extra in Mexican delicacies and in addition are used for scorching sauces.

    Yes, they are related. However they have different flavors. Most people cannot tell the differences since they are so how but my family cooks with them (my family is louisiana cajun and west indian so spicy is a must) and we use the interchangeably
