What is the cost of a dog (havannese) on average per a year?

So I really really want a dog (havannese) but my parents are worried about the cost. And so I want to know the cost, I know all the responsibilities of having a dog. And i put what kind of dog because they don't bark or shed or anything so not sure if that would be helpful Information.

So thanks!

And all dogs bark - telling fibs to your folks just to get what you want isn't going to help matters.

    Initial Fees -

Dog: $200 or so from a rescue, $900+ from a responsible breeder

    First vet check: $50-$100

    Initial Supplies: $150+

Spay/Neuter: $50-$150 depending (gender, age, etc)

    Monthly Fees -

    Food: $10-$20

Flea/Tick prevention: $10-$20 per dose, doses given monthly

Heart Worm Prevention: $5-$10 per dose, doses given monthly

    Yearly Fees -

    Vet care (non-emergency): $500+

Grooming: $30+/groom, grooming recommended every 8 weeks or so

    Treats/Toys: $50+

    Potential Fees -

Emergencies: as little as a few hundred to as much as a grand or more depending - just to give you a hint my dog had bloody diarrhea last week and her total bill(s) for vet care for that was around $350....

    Boarding: $20-$40/night

Training: $100+ for basic group lessons, usually 6-8

Replacement fees (for chewed, peed on, or damaged household items): couldn't begin to guess....

well the first two weeks of having my dog cost about £250.

that did not include cost of the dog

then every 3 months theres worming thats about £13

depending on what food that could be £20 + a month and thats if you buy it wholesale like i do if you just buy it from a supermarket or pet shop it could be alot more.

then a simple check up at the vet is £25 that dosent include treatment

then theres insurance that could be anywhere from £7-£20 a month sometimes more

also any medical emergancys, insurance dosent ever cover the whole amount so you still need to pay any excess

theres toys you need to buy all through the year as well as treats

theres a lot to consider but imo they are worth every penny. :)

    also neutering/spaying £65-£200

Aside from food and vet care they need regular grooming. Depending on whether you want it left long or cut short will depend on the price. We strip dogs like that for $50 every 3-4 months or Scissor the coat and brush it out for $60plus every 4-5 weeks. They are a lot of work

It would depend on what quality food you feed, what vet visits are required, etc.
