I like this guy but I'm not sure what to do..?

Okay so me and this boy Tom have been talking for a couple days. He goes to my school in the year above & I see him around all the time but he says he's never seen me and that he's sure he would notice me. Yesterday at school we were in the same hallway and he walked straight passed me but he didnt see me, and I'm scared that he doesn't realise thats me and I don't want him to be disappointed if he does see me then realise who I am. He's really popular in year 11 and he has loads of girl-friends who are like waaaaaay prettier than me, I'm only like an average person in year 10 so.. He also keeps saying i'm gorgeous and stunning and beautiful since he's seen my fb photos and whenever i mention that he will be disappointed he says he wont. He's so easy to talk to and he's pretty flirty, and some boy I was out with earlier said that there's been rumours going round that I'm getting with Tom, and only 1 person knows about me & him out of my friends, but she could've told her year 11 boyfriend who might have mentioned it to some people. But i doubt he would, so that must mean Tom talks about me? I don't know what to make of it..
