Noisy party next door?

What does California law say about noise at night?

I have a party going on next door. Normally, I wouldn't care, but this is the second time in as many weeks that these neighbors have had a party, and the yelling and cursing is keeping my children up.

What does the law say? Thank you.

you need to find out if your city has a noise ordinance on the books or not. Many don't, and their is therefore nothing officers can do about it. Maybe you should deal with your neighbors at an appropriate time rather than calling police (your call, I don't know details). If so, remember a little sugar helps the medicine go down.

also my own experiences moved me to say this also. Consider getting a noise maker / fan / ear plugs for you and your family. I know it is inconvenient but life isn't fair. If it helps, this problem happens to many of us and we just have to deal with it.

I think that perhaps it might be best to try and deal with your neighbor on an off day, some lazy afternoon when you see the neighbor's wife out tending the petunias.

Just start with asking her what kind of party they were having, was it a birthday? Talk awhile, remark on what fun they seemed to be having, but end with asking her if it could be possible to end the party at 11 PM, because your kids couldn't sleep.

Perhaps then she could exert some influence when the next party happens.

If you call the police on them, you just know someone will suspect you, and you have to live next door to them.

Out where I live in Texas, sometimes the mariachi music goes on until two in the morning, and I sit out on the porch and listen to it, free concert, no hard feelings. So it depends upon whether it's music to your ears or not. Yelling and cursing are unacceptable.

Noise complaints can be made at any time of the day. Police are not allowed to disclose who made the complaint.

Call police when noise is happening. No point calling after they have stopped the loud music/party etc. Police need to hear the noise when they drive by.

I think after 10 or 11 you can file a noise complaint. Do this by calling cops about noise complaint they come shut them up real simple

Call the police on the non-emergency line and tell them about the nose. And NEVER make comments such as "If you don't get a cop here NOW, there will be a murder." That can lead to arrest

call the police and be constructive to tell them to deliver somebody who speaks Spanish so they may well be understood. see if u can take some style video of the partying and then lower back the subsequent morning. or if in any respect achieveable set up a surveillance around ur barn section

call the police if its 11 at night and if its super loud and the police will shut them up but the neighbors are gonna hate you
