I have a calculus question thats been bugging me...?

Q: Does there exist a number whose cube is one more than its square?

i assume it would be: x^3=x2+1? and how would i confront this question?

im in college so dont assume im just trying to get the answer from someone, no im trying to study for a calc. test tomorrow. and im confused.

    If you are allowed a graphing calculator on the test you can just plug both sides of the equation and find the interception to get ~1.466

    Otherwise you can bring it all over to one side and use synthetic division
