07 F-150 with gas gauge issues?

its the Lariat edition with 5.4. The gauge has been sluggish lately but seems to be getting worse. It stayed at 3/4 all day and after I put $60 dollars in it went to full. I restarted later and it said I was on empty the whole ride home. Now it says its full again. The digital read out follows what every the needle says. Im looking for any suggestions that doesn't involve replacing fuel pump. It only has 40000 miles and im not feeling that energetic. Hoping somebody had similar problem and figured it out.

Well without replacing the pump you can try adding a bottle of techron to the fuel system you may need to try a couple bottles of this add 1 bottle after fill up and if no luck try another at next fill up, Ford actually says to try this on cars/trucks that throw a P0463 engine code good luck a sender may be the only fix but its worth a try
