My car makes a high pitched squeal?

This happens when I start it and then stops about 3 seconds later and does not happen again until I start the car again. What is this caused by?

Usually the squealling noise is caused by a drive belt. If its an older car, you may have a separate v-belt for the alternator, steering pump, A/C, etc. If its newer, probably a single flat (serpentine) belt. If its worse when you turn the wheel, probably related to the power steering pump. Did your fiance change the belt(s) with the pump? If not, try it. Also, as a quick fix (temporary) try spraying some aerosol belt dressing ( get it at parts stores like Napa or Pep Boys) on the belts.

Although I'm not a professional it sounds to me like your fan belt is loose. Id suggest visiting a mechanic.

Your serpentine belt is bad, idler, tensioner or one of the accessories that run off the belt is going bad.
