Merritt Island? (I wish Gimme was around- she knows that area WELL.)

Well, for Reds I'd suggest Jerk Shads and Flukes in various colors and brands. Why? You can rig them weedless and they work exceptionally well around shallow water oyster bars.

Rig them Texas style (without a weight) on a EWG Off-set Hook- http://www.basspro.com/Gamakatsu%C2%AE-EWG-Worm-Ho...

    - My favorite Jerkshad- (New Penny & Camo are my fav colors)- http://www.basspro.com/Berkley%C2%AE-Gulp!%C2%AE-S...

For Spec Trout I'd suggest a Heddon Spook Jr and a simple 1/4 OZ Jighead with a chartreuse-colored trailer. However, play with the color a bit- in muddier water use the chartreuse/"electric chicken" and red/brown- in clear water use "clear", pink and white.) Correspond the jig-head color with the trailer- it looks more "natural".

    - Spook Jr- http://www.basspro.com/Heddon-Saltwater-Super-Zara...

    - Trailer for Jig- (Why do Spec Trout love 4"-6" grubs? Their fav forage is a Needlefish.)- http://www.fishusa.com/Berkley-Gulp-6-Saltwater-Gr...

Snook are tough- they will hit a variety of lures- or not. Trying to "zero in" on a lure that works 90% of the time is difficult. Why? Because, typically, fishing pressure tends to be pretty high for Snook.

The same for bait. Your best bet for Snook is to use the most prominent bait that is running- live Shrimp, live Pogy/Menhaden, live Mullet. I've done extremely well with snook when tossing free-lined bait to Snook around mangrove swamps- they either nail it OR don't.

Using a Slip-Float rig with a live Finger Mullet works well around bridge pilings for Snook, (and Gator Trout)- How to rig a Slip Float- http://www.5min.com/Video/How-to-Rig-a-FloatSlip-B...

    - How to fish a Slip Bobber- http://www.5min.com/Video/How-to-Fish-and-Adjust-F...

What I've found when targeting Snook, ( with bait or lures)??? It's vital to use Fluorocarbon leaders, (or line). To be honest I almost always use Fluro leaders for all my Inshore fishing, (either 20-25LB - or 17LB when the water clarity is extremely clear).

If your buying bait get live Shrimp or live Mud Minnows. Call around and see if any bait shops have Finger Mullet or Pinfish- if they do, JUMP on them. It's very rare to find live Pinfish or F. Mullet at a baitshop.

Stay away from any dead bait for the species your targeting. Reds, Trout, Flounder and Snook rarely take dead bait.

    Hope this helps?

Use live shrimp for trout and redfish....the best place to fish for seatrout is 4-8 feet of water, preferably grassy bottom, use 1 splitshot and 10 lb mono and work the shrimp off the bottom. seatrout are plentiful. im not sure about redfish. snook, also use live shrimp ( very large shrimp) or pinfish. use 20 lb mono with a bobber and 30 lb leader and CIRCLE hooks. make sure to let em eat it. go to inland areas where there is structure ( bridges, dams) and get your bait as close as possible to the structure and youll get action. snook are best fished at night. trout are best late afternoon-early evening.

    tight lines

For redfish small crabs about 2-3 inches are the best.

Rat-L-Traps work well for redfish and snook.

Shrimp under a popping cork is great for speckle trout.

My go-to lure for all three would definitely be Berkley Gulp Saltwater Baits. I have a great webpage for you to learn more about these highly effective lures! Go here http://www.bigfishingshop.com/saltwater-fishing/

and click on "baits and scents" in the right-hand categories. Give them a try and you will be "hooked"! Good luck!
