Where can I learn some fighting skills?
I'm a sophomore in high school am I'm a total pacifist, but lately I've been put in some situations in which violence was one of the only ways out. I'm afraid that soon I'll have to actually defend myself. You know how high school is. Anyway, I just want to learn some basic moves, techniques, etc. besides the super basic stuff that everybody knows. I've searched the internet but it's all overly simple stuff or programs that cost money. Any ideas?
I appreciate the thought, my dad isn't around, and this is not one for my mom. Plus I don't have the time nor money. I might have a couple friends to talk to, but something else would be ideal. Thanks anyway!

You can learn Wing Chun it is the best thing for Self-Defense. Check out Master Wong Wing Chun on you tube. This guy is crazy and funny, but his techniques are real effective. See if your mom & dad can help you with joining a Wing Chun school. Wing Chun gives you tools for a situation, by learning Wing Chun you will gain confidence in your ability. I don't think bringing a knife with you especially at school is a good idea. Never bring out a weapon unless you plan on commiting to use it. Live by the gun and you will die by the gun it's the code in the streets. Anyways, you can always strike someone in the eyes, throat, or groin these are the softest areas of the human body. You have to strike first because hesitation can lead to you getting hurt or worse. You can also run from the situation and get someone like your teacher or principal involved if this is happening in school. When you are put in a fight or flight situation you have to tune in into your animal or primal instincts and become a beast. The book "The Art of War by Sun Tzu he states when you are strong act like you are weak, if you are weak act like you are strong.
I am a student of Grandmaster Sifu Klaus Brand, International Academy of WingChun. Please take a look at our videos on YouTube. Good luck and use your best judgement!

Usually if you get angry enough at the person who your fighting skills will just come out of you and youll be able to defend yourself. Or just get a knife and carry it around with you so you can threaten someone with it. If your fighting black guys (if your white) then your wasting your time you have no chance. I'm a freshmen in high school but I dont go to a school were people get into fights every 2 seconds.
