Which team to support - Red Sox or Yankees?

Now, here's one for you.

My wife is a Red Sox fan, and like many Red Sox fans, she cannot stand the Yankees.

BUT with the Yankees playing the Rays, she is in a difficult situation. Does she stay with the Red Sox and hope that they get through, or does she - for one game and one game only - support the Yankees and hope they rain on Tampa's party?

She's already decided, but what do YOU think?

Pray Boston wins, Pray Tampa looses. Even if you want Tampa to loose, you don't technically want New York to win.

Without supporting the Yankees, that means she would hate the Yankees more than she likes the Red Sox. If the Red Sox lose tonight, they cannot go to the playoffs unless the Yankees beat the Rays to give them a shot at a 1 game playoff.

Any real Red Sox fan would root for the Yankees in tonight's game (and in the previous 2 games)

Need a Sox win and the Yankees have to beat the Rays. I'd hate to have it come down to a playoff in the Trop.

It's a no-brainer, a Yankees win will help her Red Sox and won't change anything for the Yankees. She's gotta root for them just this once.

i think its fine to do so. after all if the Rays win they will either win the wild card or force a tie breaker. and let me tell you that its going to be easier for the Rays to win tonight because the Yankees are only using pitchers who are not on the post season roster. and im not sure how Lester will pitch on short rest but if Boston does come through well i think their exit will be quick considering they lack pitching and they have over used their pen.

If both the Rays and Redsox win i think the Rays have an advantage in a one game playoff because they have great pitching and although they don't have the lineup the redsox have they got the pitching to shut it down.

Of course she supports the Yankees...it's not that difficult. She can support them without liking them.

It could hapen that the Yankees played in the WS...sometimes you just support the AL team...it depends.

Support the Yankeees. I'm doing the same thing. I'm hoping for Cano to just start hitting and hit homers. I'm rooting for Tex, the Grandy Man,and a-rod to beat up the Rays.

Just pray Boston wins. Yankees dont even know their starter today against David Price. I hope its Andrew Brackman. Then there going to send out a triple a lineup. No pitchers pitching in the alds on friday will pitch today and most hitters will get the day off
