Why is the new episode of American Dad only able to be watched on Hulu Plus not normal Hulu?

It will be on normal Hulu in 8 days. Fox shows are now on Hulu Plus for the first week, then it will be unlocked and available on normal Hulu for free the following week. Don't blame Hulu; they are just following the same policy as the Fox website.

but it may only be this season... if i recall Hulu only added Plus last year so they are still testing the waters

for example Last year SVU was only on plus but from what I saw its on the regular Hulu this year... and I even think last season has been moved over as well

part of it is that they don't want people to get complacent and decide they'll just not watch or wait for DVDs

as to... "hulu is not doing what it is supposed to" Hulu is a business enterprise between NBC and Fox (with a deal w/ ABC and CBS if i'm not mistaken) and their goal is make Money... on the free site they get it from selling ads just like antenna TV gets from commercial breaks...

on PLUS they get it from subscriptions

and lets look at the 'threat' to "Never use HULU again"... seriously for everything that hulu offers for FREE you're going to walk away because 1 show you like has moved to the pay side of the site.. really... for one so fickle I'm sure those Fox execs are just shivering in their boots

American Dad Newest Episode

Yes it is permanent, but it's not Hulu's fault. The blame goes to the Networks who want money for the shows ... so if Hulu wants to continue providing some free content, they will need to charge for other content. Otherwise it will be zero content.

Anyway I guess you won't be using Hulu anymore. ;)

they'll probably release the ep. of american dad soon but i hate hulu, too many ads & i used to have their subscription. it would be better to just download a torrent of the episodes :)
