Do most tourists that travel to China do so for pleasure or do they go there to do some kind of business?

You're contradicting yourself. Tourists are inherently going to engage in "tourism" which would mean pleasure as opposed to Business Travelers that travel predominantly for business.

When you return to your country of origin the immigration officer most often asks, what was the purpose of your travel - business or pleasure. Tourists are touring so therefore traveling for pleasure and business people go because they have to.

Now I would venture a guess and say that 35% of all VISITORS to China are tourists with the remaining 65% being business travelers. I'm sure this figure is available if you really want me to find it.
