Is there a software fix for a USB mouse that double clicks?
It's an optical mouse from Gateway. When I click, sometimes it reads the click twice. Can I fix this with the software, or should I just get a new mouse?

The mouse is probably about worn out. I believe I would just go for a new mouse.
You can get a good wireless mouse at wal-mart, Office Depot, or Best Buy for about
25 bucks. I am using 5 of them. Microsoft 3000 Wireless mouses, mooses, mice. LOL

Look for the mouse model on the internet and check for any firmware updates. But if its a very old mouse, its due to the wear and tear caused by the hundreds and thousands of clicks and its probably time to buy a new mouse.
One thing you can try is to go to the control panel under the mouse options and decrease the time interval between two consecutive clicks, to get rid of any unnecessary accidental double clicks.
Take care.
