Should I buy an XBOX or PS3?

first things first. i DONOT own an xbox 360 AND i m no FANBOY either. i made rational comparision b/w ps3 n x360 before buying ps3. of course ur prefrences are diff than mine, but my prime concern was the exclusive titles available for each of these awesome systems and ps3 is better there.

this year many superb ps3 exclusives like resistance 3, killzone 3, heavy rain (all of these have MOVE support) hv been released and some are gonna be released soon like uncharted 3 (way too awesome!), the last guardian, final fantasy xiii-2. past ps3 games are also fantastic like final fantasy xiii, god of war 3, metal gear solid 4, gran turismo 5, uncharted 1 and 2, little big planet series. some classic ps2 games are also being remade for ps3 in HD and believe me, they are worth playing like shadow of the colossus, ico, god of war series! x360 also has halo (4-5 games), gears of war series (gears of war 3 is superb!), alan wake up its arsenal but then, thatz pretty much it.

ps3 has motion controller which is very accurate and has fun shooter and other games going for it! x360 has kinect which doesn't need any controller at all but alas shooter and other hardcore games can't find a way to utilise this at present.

the games that are available both on ps3 and x360 have slightly better performance on xbox because ps3 development codes are more complex than xbox. but graphics on ps3 are slightly better than the x360. these are minor issues that u wouldn't even notice but still are worth mentioning.

ps3 has blue ray discs which store more data than DVD and so biggest games are there on 1 disc while games like Rage are on 3 discs for x360. ps3 has much more hard disk space. ps3 has considerably less hardware failure rates than x360 but once damaged, ps3 costs more in terms of both time and money to be refurbished than its competitor! ps3 has wifi connectivity, xbox needs ethernet. ps3 has all sorts of good exclusive games while x360 has mostly shooters. both support stereoscopic 3D gaming and have titles that run in 3D. looks-wise ps3 is evergreen as black will never run outta fashion but i feel x360 models r also cool man! for the control schemes, i hv only 1 thing to say- with a little practice and graphically stunning games in front of my eyeballs, i can get used to any darn controller in the world... and so can u. psn is free with an option of buyin a psn+ membership which has some extra content on it while xbox live costs for any and every use, even playing multiplayer games online! ps3 trophies are useless while xbox achievements can be converted into credits and used for buying games online (but you have to have that much number of achievements and once spent, you'll have to get more games to get another "free" game for achievements.. thats a tad tedious).

multiplayer has always been damn awesome on xbox as playstation has always focused more on the single player campaigns. BUT that is CHANGING now. Uncharted, resistance, killzone and many more games to come in future will have ps3 gamers verrry busy online, trust me.

as far as the legal sections that restrict users from suing sony are concerned, users have an option of not accepting those terms within 15 days of their registeration. for further details, contact sony or read articles online. also i'd like to say that faults occur within the biggest of the corporations. yes my psn was also down for 1 month because it was hacked but u should also see that ps3 restricts piracy strictly and so has much more determined hackers and crackers after it! also i donot know a single person who got his money stolen or couldn't recover his psn account! xbx fanboys spread a lot of rumours. i personally know many x360 gamers whose accounts were stolen and microsoft didn't seem to be very co-operative in helping them. so its all equal, mishaps happen online everywhere. the key to safety is to stay on your toes and freeze bank accounts associated with psn/xlive online services when u find u r hacked.

so both are awesome. if only i had the budget i'd hv got an x360 also for sure! but i had to choose only 1 and so is ur case. i say get a ps3! for any further doubts of yours, keep this in mind- "know thy game, know thyself" ;-)

I am a Ps3 owner, i believe X-box is a very well trusted system, for me, i chose the Ps3 because of the free online, and as you said," It does look a lot more nicer and presentable". The cons of a Ps3 is, the Online isnt as safe as X-box, Ps3 has been down for a month at one period in time, and also, Ps3 doesnt have all the games like Halo and Gears to play on. The pros of Ps3 is, the FREE online gaming. In my opinion, its a big bonus! ive probably saved over 300 dollars by getting a Ps3 rather then an X-box.

The Xbox is better if you plan on doing online gaming. Although you have to pay, your information doesn't get stolen, and you don't lag out whenever you play. Besides that, Sony has a new term and condition for playing online, where you're essentially not allowed to sue them if they do something wrong. The only thing that the PS3 has over the Xbox is that it has slightly better looking graphics, but even then, it's not that big of a deal. Also, referring to your comment about liking controls, the Xbox controller is easy to get used to and extremely comfortable, due to it's larger size and analog stick positioning. Now I know PS3 fanboys love to troll yahoo answers and try to smear the Xbox, but please disregard their illogical claims.

trust me when i say this.. both consoles have the same probabililt of breaking because it is unknown if it will break, i know this becasue my ps3 broke yestarday and i pre-ordered fifa12 still got it and i am going to buy another 1... i would get the console which has the games you liek most on, also consider how many friends have which console and which consoles most of your best friends have.. also consider iwll your parents pay for the online on xbox, most will but, what will your do... keep all these in mind as well as the overall price of the console. personnaly i would buy a ps3 because lots of my friends play that and also i dont want to pay for an online when there basically the same, overall just get the console that appeals to you the most..

PS3 for sure. Online is totally free. Xbox u have to pay membership. Also when u buy PS3 u aren't just getting a gaming system u r also getting a 3d compatible blue ray player. PS3 all the way.

the Xbox has better online play and it's easier to keep up with your friends plus it has a better line up of game such as halo but the down side is that you have to pay for Xbox live wile the ps3 is free for online ( don't think I'm just saying that xbox is better because that's all i have i have both ) the ps3 is laggy and its hard to chat with friend so i would say if your willing to pay for Xbox live Xbox owns ps3

I would base it purely on what your friends have. If you are going to use it as a blu ray player then go ps3 but otherwise it really doesn't matter, just make sure you get the one that your friends play.

I guess it depends on the games you play. Many of the hardcore action gamers love Xbox more and fun relaxing games players love PS3 more.
