Besides, apple will just slowly add more to the ipad so if you wait it'll be much better without having to buy a new one every year. For example, the ipod touch 4 has facetime something the other older versions don't. If i recall correctly, the 3rd gen ipod touch didn't even have a mic either. Best to wait for once the deal starts getting good with the ipad before forking out cash just for something that's gonna suck in the next year. My list probably seems pretty disorganized I know but seriously, go with a regular desktop pc. If you don't care about games or having office word and all that stuff I guess sure go ipad. I'd probably just go with a cheap laptop in that case so I can have some of the features of a regular pc. I believe computers like that are called netbooks. Cheap, small, good for internet, email, and can do some basic stuff like word and the such. Unless you have a lot of cash to spend, my order of importance would be pc, laptop, netbook, and last ipad. I think i'd just go with an iphone or ipod touch over the ipad though since it's pretty much the same thing just smaller. It's up to you in the end but really, pc is probably your best bet. Or just a mac if you wish up to you.

They cant do 1/100 of the things a desktop can do, and are designed for people who think that they need something they really don't. Oh and the best desktops you can buy are closer to the $3000-$4000 mark, and do some with 1TB hard drives. Msnbc is stupid. They will not replace desktops. As far as im concerned, nothing in our near future will.
