Can anyone be voted into parliment?

just wondering, can anyone be voted into parliment or is still like you must have extra privaliges that make you better than other citizens sorta thing?

    Yes, anyone of a certain age can run as a local MP, but you have to put a deposit down which isn't refunded unless you get a certain number of votes. If you are voted in (which would be unlikely) then you are a Member of the House of Commons. A normal citizen cannot be voted into the House of Lords.

    How come nobody on here asking these questions ever ever says what country they are talking about. Because no, not just anyone can run for parlaiment. If I live in Zimbabwe I cannot run for an office in Canada or Britain. Maybe the parlaiment on the moon but that is about it.
