In general, NPO (no food by mouth) IV hydration, pain control, nasogastric tube for decompression.
Some patients require mechanical ventilation, vasopressors to support blood pressure, antibiotics if there is necrosis of the pancreas.
Treatment is basically supportive. And treatment of the underlying cause if possible.
If the cause is gallstones then the gallbladder is usually removed as soon as the acute pancreatitis is resolving.
