Are we really crazy? is 4 dogs too many?
We have 4 dogs and are currently watching my sisters also. The 4th is a mini schnauzer puppy n the others are: 2yr old mini aussie 1yr old german shephard/golden retreiver mix and a 5yr old border collie/blue heeler mix. They are trained n are very good girls. They get tons of exercise (dog park every day too) we also don't go out very much so they spend a lot of time playing n running in our backyard and my sisters dog is basically like a cat you don't even notice her she's in her own world almost all the time she's a good girl. To us its not that bad at all! Me n my hubby don't get why ppl think we are crazy for having all these dogs (my sisters is only here for a bit) we really don't see why ppl think its so hard n nuts to have this many. What's your opinion are we really crazy or wrong to have our babies :(
Ya the money is part of why they say that but really I don't think we spend that much on them...they get their food, toys and yearly shots/check-ups done and grooming when it's necessary but we don't really see how that's too costly. Then again we dont' go out alot and rarely spend money on ourselves unless it's needed so we use it for our girls

I see nothing wrong with it so long as the owner has the time, space, money, and commitment for that amount of dogs. Those are the only things that really matter. I personally have two dogs, a female Chihuahua and a male German Shepherd. I also have two cats. All of them get the love, attention, exercise, and care that they need. I am financially stable to have all of my pets.

A lot of people have 4 or more kids so why not 4 dogs? I am considering a 4th right now but not sure how the fiancé will react so I haven t made a decision yet. One of our dogs is 15 y/o and not in the best of health but the other two are 1 1/2 and have really brought life to him since we got them. Normally I wouldn t have put him thru dealing with puppies at his age but when his older brother died he was very depressed and I thought I would give it a try and boy what a positive affect it had on him.
But I definitely don t think 4 is crazy, think of it as 4 dogs you saved:)

I guess you can call us both crazy. At the present, we have 4 dogs (we had 6 at one time) 15 cats, 1 parrot, 2 donkeys. We use to have many more animals. We don't go any where either. I think after about 2 or 3 pets it doesn't really make much difference.

We even have 2 teenagers. we like animals and the youngsters learn thousands approximately accountability and life having them. they seem to be a important element of our lives. we wish to retire in approximately 20 yrs purchase a block and rescue some sheep and a cow. i might love a horse yet my Hubby is frightened of them. We additionally desire to reproduce border collies then because of the fact we like them yet our life variety isn't fairly ultimate for them.

It sounds like you have the time, energy and love to take good care of 4 dogs so I would say it isn't to many for you. It would be to many for my husband and I - 1 dog and 1 cat is plenty for us. Even 1 dog is to many for some people because they don't even have time or energy for that one.

Your not crazy. If you can take them all to the vet, walk them all, play with them all, feed them all. With no problem at all. Being responsible and such. Yard for them to play in. And a comfy house to be in.
Your fine. Nothing is wrong with four dogs. At least not 24 dogs!

as long as you can handle them, care for them and give them all the TLC they need? not crazy at all!
when i was younger we had 12 dogs huskies and malamutes and at one point during that we also had a rotty and a border collie the BC was stolen and the rotty died of cancer so we had 12 dogs after that and 1 cat a stray black cat named Blacky. to top it off when we inherited and bought some of those 12 dogs they were pregnant the previous owner we inherited them from had been a breeder and show owner of them. the dogs we bought ...apparently the owner hadn't been watching as well as they thought and their neighbors male got in with his two girls. so we did end up having over 12 at one point all were rehomed spayed and neutered or died of old age at our place.
4 litters and only 3 litters survived the mother of the fourth was a female we bought not knowing she had been bred..my father didnt want to abort the pups because he considered it murder but the pups did die soon after birth failing puppys.
(it was a crazy couple months before we got them all under spay/neuter contracts and rehomed them)
my parents now have 3 dogs. i have 1 cat that i ended up adopting last night and a pekingese to top it off in november i will have a second dog =]
i think one day i would gladly own 8 dogs again just not 12 lmao.
my pekingese (fat baba louie): http://i589.photobucket.com/albums/ss336/americana...
my cat (unnamed, was thrown out of a moving car last night and i took him in): http://i589.photobucket.com/albums/ss336/americana...
one of the pups from this litter will be mine: http://i589.photobucket.com/albums/ss336/americana... (next week i should theoretically know who is mine and the registration names)
