When dragunity legionnaire and i equip him with aklys do i still have priority to get his effect off ?

When you summon legionnaire you get priority to activate his effect to EQUIP Aklys. Your opponent can then chain Icarus or trap hole and destroy legion. Legions ability to tribute Aklys is an ignition effect. Here spell speed doesn't matter (if your opponent were to wait and chain Icarus to legions effect the effect would still work) but it works like breaker. His priority effect is to gain a counter. Then the ignition effect is the tribute the counter to destroy a card, so any card played to destroy him at the summon will make his effect useless.
