Boys names as boys names girls names as girls names?

Do you think boys names should remain as boys names and girls names remain as girls names?

I'm talking like Drew, Cameron, Tyler, Addison, Brooke, Emerson ect.

Is there a name you hate seeing on the opposite sex?

Update:

Do you think it would be hard on the child when they are in school weather it be high school or primary that they would meet someone of the opposite sex and be a little embarrassed because they have the same name??

I despise seeing gender crossing names, especially when the original gender is still wearing them. Actual gender neutral names are incredibly rare - there are about ten, tops, the rest are usually boys names - as are the ones in your list, and active boys names should stay boys names. In a living language there is always drift, and when one name dies as a gender specific, such as Beverly or Florence, which yes, started as boys names, then they can be picked up and adapted to the opposite gender, but having one boy and one girls with the same name in the same class - hate it. And the whole surname as given name thing must end

I definitely love all of those names on boys more! With the exception of Brooke. I think boy names on girls is really tacky and unattractive, and it makes things really confusing when you're talking about someone and can't tell if they're a boy or girl. I mean one of the main purposes for a name is to be able to tell someones gender... Plus girls are taking all the sweet boy names and now it's like you can't name your son something that isn't "Mr. Super Butch McTestosterone" sounding.

As for the surnames like McKenzie and Addison, those should just stay surnames... I don't like them on either gender.

Edit: I think it would be embarrassing to some to meet someone of the opposite sex with their name, I know some girls who don't care, and then there's my friends Logan and Morgan who are both girls and get really annoyed by it and Logan gets "butch" jokes a lot from people because she looks very tomboyish and you know people are just @sses sometimes, so sometimes bullying can be a problem too which is another reason I don't like it. And I feel bad for boys with names that are starting to be used on girls because now they're getting picked on by kids that don't know better too.

I hate seeing most names on the opposite sex.

I think girls should have feminine names and boys should have masculine names.

The only name I can see on both genders is Spencer.

There are certain names that should strictly stay for a boy and certain names that should stay strictly for a girl.

I do love unisex names though.

    Avery, Ayden, Taylor, Dakota, ect

I think the only way a unisex name works if if the name isn't popular for one sex, like can you imagine a little girl named Harry, or a little boy named Grace?

Casey! I love that name and if my daughter was a son I would have used it! Lol.

There's only a few boys names I like on girls which include Brooke, Darcey(my sister), Kelly, Eden, Jordan (my mum) and Morgan.

That is honestly transphobic. Being a transgender lucky to have a unisex name I take offense.

  • Names like Morgan and Bailey are okay for a boy but I like these boy names for a girl-

    Dylan

    Spencer

    Drew
