This filipino officer is wearing what the uniform of an American pilot. He has a braided flight cap and the baggies on. This boy better get used to the elements if he is going to play army and defend a nation. If the Red Chinese attack this clown will run away and surrender his troops.

Have you seen the uniforms ?

OMG only a bakla would wear them. So full of braids, ribbons, badges, ID , name tags, chevrons , shiny things, loudly coloured buttons, all belts and buckles and metal bits. I don't dress up my Christmas Tree as much as the Filipno Army dresses up it's soldiers.

I mean really, a soldier is a tool the govt use to KILL ENEMIES.

Not get around looking like a gay parade.

So, if you had to go out in public all dressed up in the Philippines with no war to go to, I guess you would become ''dainty'' too.

At least your Govt saves a lot of money by not having to buy the soldiers a Bayonet. The shirt sleeves and trousers have been ironed so strongly, the knife edge creases mean that if you bump into one, you will get cut to pieces, hence, saves buying them a knife.

What is really funny is that the soldiers are not really built big as in the west. Carrying an M16 they look like school boys from a military academy as the M16 is about as long as they are. Half the ones I see at the airport look like they need a baggage handler to help them carry their gun around.

And I suppose all this makes for a bit of a poooffey attitude. Soldier goes home after work and says to wife, oh Dear, my gun is SOOO big and heavy, My uniform is SOOO stiff and crusty, I just CANT take it anymore. Swoon. To be perfectly frank, I dont see much difference between a Filipino soldier and a Ballerina. All dressed up and nowhere to go.

Have you seen military officers in the United States? They look like they ran into scrambled eggs with salsa, soy sauce and Xmas glitters hanging on their uniforms. The more senior the officer is, the more ribbons and medals he hangs on his left chest only, making him look heavy and lopsided.

    that's General Marciano Ilagan.

I think Gen Ilagan was half Filipino- half Gremlin. When he gets wet, he multiplies.

    edit:

Gen. Ilagan was a Philippine Air Force general.

that filipino officer may have his reasons

    we better not judge them.

why get those socks and shoes wet when you can keep it dry?

if i was that guy, i would most likely take them off not be carried piggy back , worst, free of charge.
