Alienware or standard Dell?
I'm going to get a laptop for college, and while I will be doing a good amount of regular work on it, I also plan to play games on it like Age of Empires Online, Minecraft, and browser games primarily. I absolutely love the look and feel of Alienware computers. Would it be worth it to buy one of the cheaper model Alienware computers? Are the least expensive Alienware computers even that good as far as their prices go?

For Minecraft and AoE a higher level model laptop will be fine. You don't need an Alienware for that BUT if you're going to college for something that might have anything to do with computer generated anything, get the Alienware. Most people see them and think "I can only play games on these, what a waste." but the processing power and GPUs are good for graphic design, CGI, etc and etc. You probably won't need an Alienware though.

Alienware is overpriced, just get a good dell laptop, my cousin got a $600 one that could run WoW on the best graphics at a steady 60 FPS
