I'm a bit confused about tank size for snakes.?
My corn snakes are over a foot long and they are only 3 months old (give or take a couple weeks). They are aprox 15 and 20 inches long. I have a few questions:
1.) Is it safe to keep 2 corns in the same tank? I have been told corns get along well in the same tank, but then when I go to read up on them people say you shouldn't because they can possibly eat each other. I don't know what to believe!
2.) What size tank should I put them in? I have heard both to give them a good amount of room and then on the other hand give them a small enclosure so I don't stress them out. It seems to me there is nothing set in stone because not everyone agrees on it.
3.) Finally; Would it be safe to just separate them now and give them a tank big enough for when they are adults and let them grow into it? I have 1 male and 1 female so I want to separate them eventually. I was thinking of just making them each a 20 gallon tank.

1.) Absolutely not. Snakes are solitary and should not be housed together. Just because some people and pet stores do it does not make it okay. If one gets sick, the other will. Other problems include parasite transmission, feeding problems, cannibalism, and stress. The previous answer is extremely incorrect in saying that they "might bond together". They do not bond with other snakes and prefer to be alone. I have 300 snakes and all of my snakes are housed by themselves.
2.) A 10 gallon is fine for now but move them up to a 20 when they get larger.
3.) Sure, just provide hiding places.

We have two corn snakes together at college and they het along fine :)
They need a bigger enclosure so they don't get stressed, they need room to move around, they also need something to hide under, why not separate them now? because if they bond then they might get upset when one of them leaves the tank :)
