My mum had a deep vein thrombosis in her early 30s now i have a bulging varicose vein at 21 help :-(?
i have a bulging varicose vein on the back of my calf that is spreading, you can see the rest of the vein close to the surface and covers an area 3.5 inches long a d 3.5 inches wide. I am only 21 and so upset about this, my doctor said that I am too young to Have anything other than a stocking which I think is highly unfair as I cant wear shorts, skirts or go swimming. My mum had a DVT in her early 30s which should mean that I am at a higher risk right? i live a healthy lifestyle and im not overweight, i have tried the stocking and it has just done nothing for the vein as its just been getting worse, what do i do? :'-(

Varicose veins (in general) have NO relation to DVTs. Different parts of the circulation in the leg.
You can be evaluated by a vascular surgeon that treats veins. Depending on your exact circumstances, your insurance may or may not cover it.
