What can I do about marked money?

I received a $100 bill from the bank. I then tried to use it at Radio Shack. They drew a red X on the front and handed it back to me. So now it is flagged and theres no way I can spend it. Is there any way my bank could refund me or something? Cause now I am down $100 and pissed off

Update:

hoe slappa: this actually happened so go humor yourself

And the X is drawn with a counterfeit marker. This is the old version of a $100 so maybe the person is told not to accept these bills not sure. But it feels different than another old $100 I have and the back looks like it is not centered. Because I compared the two by holding them in the light that is the only difference

Sounds like a lie...but I will humor you... Take it back to the bank sure they will remember you...anyway..In the event that a "bank" can't identify fake bills you should be happy that the radio shack person didn't follow the rules and call the police...I suggest selling it on eBay as an official counterfeit $100 bill people who are into making fake money would Love to know how this bill made it past the bank clearance and all you would def make your money back ...tell this story as a sells pitch!

Take it back to the bank you got it from, tell them the "who," "what" and "where" story of what happened. If it is an actual $100 bill they should have no problems in replacing it and the Radio Shack employee may be in trouble for defacing U.S. currency. If the bill is a counterfeit, then you just may be SOL.

I guess I'm confused why they put an X on it. Did they test it with a counterfeit money pen? If so you just got lucky because normally counterfeit money will get you in jail even if you got it legally.

So say it's legal and just has an X on it. Just run to the bank and ask them for change. You didn't put the red mark on there, and if it was conterfeit you would have already gone to jail.
