Why is my guitar amp buzzing and popping.?
I have a Fender Frontman 212r amp. Even with all of the knobs turned down to 0 and nothing plugged in, when you turn the amp on, the first thing it does is make a really loud buzzing noise. Then it will go quiet. After a couple of seconds it will make a loud pop noise. Does anyone know what's going on?

If that amplifier is still under warranty, you need to return it and either get it repaired or replaced. If it's not under warranty, then you should talk to a qualified repair person. In any event, the proper place to start is to contact Fender Technical Support. http://www.fender.com/dealers/service_centers.php
If it's still under warranty, I believe the dealer you bought it from can help you.

It sounds like one of the filter capacitors in the power supply has either failed or the solder connection is bad.
Regardless, unless you're an experienced electronics tech, it's not a DIY repair. Take it to someone who does that kind of work for a living.
Good luck.
