Martin Johnson! Do you feel sorry for him?

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,,12504_7234505,00...

I agree with Robinson in one respect, the disarray in RFU at the moment needs to be sorted out, starting with Rob ( I like doing reviews) Andrew being handed his P45. The off field antics of some of the players showing their boss massive disrespect, why the feck should one of the best captains seen be treated like this by them above and below him???????

I am sure that given the right coaching staff, some decent bosses and players who show respect, MJ will grow in his role!

I questioned his appointment due to lack of experience but sure he has learnt after this dismal campaign?

Update:

@lazybone. from your quote......... "Any time we travelled away as a team for a weekend, we carried on in similar fashion- guys often revert to teenagers"......I take it you are talking about your local rugby club going on an end of season tour, as opposed to a past RWC winners and the husband of the Queens granddaughter cavorting with an ex with the eyes of the world looking on..............I am afraid that the words "what goes on on tours, stays on tour" went out the door when rugby turned pro!!!!!!!!!!!!

These guys are in the public eye and paid highly and should act professionally and are looked up at as heroes by kids, no different to Rooney and Co.

This is the RUGBY WORLD CUP.................not a tour from Cwmflipflop to Blackpool!!!!!!!!!!!!

About time someone put in a decent post about England instead of crying in the corner.

Yes I know not your team colours so of course you wouldn't be cryin lol.... but still.

It's been a bit like the get rid of Henry campaign after our dismal performance in the 07 campaign yet (don't know how) he's still here and look where we are now amazing what 4 years can do.

I agree - MJ great player? yes but their needs to be a line drawn between player/past and present and Manager - respect. I'm hoping he gets to stay on and have decent staff that he may guide and with this build former champs back into World Champs.

No I don't feel sorry for him. He knew the story before taking the job and was aware that any flak would fall on him- the head coach has to take responsibility; same as every other nation. I think he may be too stubborn to be an effective coach- he seems inflexible and domineering.

I wouldn't put too much emphasis on the players behaviour off-the-field. Any time we travelled away as a team for a weekend, we carried on in similar fashion- guys often revert to teenagers.

To be fair their behaviour off the pitch probably wasn't that different to many of the other teams. But It doesn't help when the British tabloids follow the England team around. In future they need private bars & venues to help prevent this.

As for MJ he's in the 'hot seat' as it's part of the responsibility of his job. He made some mixed decisions but I think overall things have improved with English Rugby. I'd like to see him stick around.

Also on loosing to France, that was no ordinary French performance. They could of beaten most teams that day. The only way to beat them appears to be all muscle up the front like Tonga did.
